Nick Gerrard

I had a cool dad!

He loved music. I learned about The Smiths, The Cure, Stone Roses, Brian Eno, Zero 7, underworld and of course New Order because of him.

One of the brightest and wittiest man I’ve known.

Sharp as anything and a demon at just about any board game but particularly on a scrabble board.

He taught me to play football (badly) and fussball and more importantly about The Owls. In fact one of my happiest childhood memories is the 39th minute of the League Cup final in 1991 together with my brother Alex and Carl when John Sheridan defied the odds and hammered it in. ‘Always look on the bright side of life’ we sang to those Utd fans that day and it seems about right today.

RIP you battled hard and long. Up the Owls x
